Is a CRT television better for old gaming consoles?
I've been playing my NES, SNES, and others on my LCD flatscreen and it doesn't seem as good. Maybe this is obvious, but IS is better to play those consoles on a CRT?

The problem is that low resolution NES/SNES graphics might look pixelated on modern large, high resolution LCD displays. Either stick with smaller screen, or the suggested CRT - the graphics won't be that sharp thus pixelated. For example I was always conform with VGA 320x200 graphics for example with old adventure games - but I was playing them on 15" CRT monitors. Now with 24" LCD it's extremely blocky and must be played in a window with smoothed resizing.

A CRT does have a better view of black colors than LCD tv's, but I find LCD look better overall. CRT's does give you the old school effect so it is great on those old consoles. Its your preference. Good Luck

Just about all the second generation consoles (8 bit NES-001 and since) have A/V out. If you can use your PS2, you can use them. The first generation consoles mostly have analog RF out, usually with a 75 ohm RCA jack or cable. They can often be modified to have A/V out. If your TV will have a tuner that can tune analog, you can use the RF connection with an RCA to F adapter, either on the TV or an RF selector box.

not really I was playing Nintendo 64 games on a led monitor 21 inch using a gaming pc the graphics are the same just the cpu speed is little fast at times .if your using a high gaming pc some n64 roms or other will use high cpu timing make your games run in fast forward mode.
tv or monitor does not make the gaming any better
best bet is to get a wii play the games the same way as you used to but even on wii still looks the same but on wii they made the sound more crappy and sounded better on n64 then on wii
