You would use two rules:
log (A^B)= B* log(A)
And log(A*B)= logA + logB
The base will stay the same.
-------
So first pull the exponent forward:
Log(5)[ (xy)^4]= 4* log(5)[ xy]
Then separate the product:
4* [ log(5)[x] + log(5)[y] ]
I hope this helps!

3log(base a) - log(y) + 4log(z) (notice that purely z is raised to the ability of four) using the regulations that log x^2 to illustrate = 2log x (the exponent comes "down") and additionally log x/y = log x - log y (branch, subtract logs) and log xy = log x + log y (multiplication of two numbers = upload logs)
