How far are we from the uniting of churches?

Update:

Uniting they will and yes under the authority of the catholic church. Seems much closer though, and even if they do disagree with each other on some points in their faith, there seems to be an underlying power waiting to rise and fulfil Revelation 13 and has already begun its manifestation process... Is it possible to actually tell how it begins?

Update 2:

Besides, let's also consider the fact that for a common goal; even enemies could become friends to destroy the other.

Just like the Native Americans, you will continue to fight the rising tide, and continue to fight each other, and will eventually be overwhelmed, destroyed, and conquered.

Biggest difference is, YOU will not be receiving a government "sorry we beat your azz" check in the mail, and you will not have a "sovereign reservation" to be displaced to.

It's happening as we speak ... you just wait another 30 years as all the "baby boomers" die off, and then take a survey of how many atheists there are, compared to NOW ... the increase in numbers will be STAGGERING.

    about 5 ft.

But honestly... impossible to really say. Maybe 20 years, maybe never.

Traditional Anglicans are expressing interesting in re-joining Catholicism. Last I heard, a couple thousand already have.

Catholicism and Orthodoxy are closer then ever in their dialogue to resolve their differences.

Many mainstream Christian denominations such as: Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, etc. are becoming MORE tradition, with such practices as fasting, Lent, etc. I think many non-Catholic Christians are reaching for deeper spirituality in their lives. - which is a good thing because it brings people back to their roots (Which as a Catholic I believe those roots are the mother church they broke away from)

There are "Joint statements of belief" being issued between demoninations. Thus getting different Christian faiths to focus on what they have incommon, verses what they disagree on. Again, these 'joint statements' are initiated by the Catholic church and are historic firsts.

Issues such as SSM, Abortion, and HHS mandate are actually bringing different denominations together to work towards a common goal, sharing beliefs and creating inter-faith dialogue in the process.

The internet is helping to share information between faiths. Dispelling a lot of misconceptions and misinformation, allowing groups to realize they have a lot more in common, then they think, even if they use different words to express it.

So there is HOPE -- no major changes, but more HOPE and OPTIMISM them ever before.

Still could be decades, centuries, away. If ever. But there is a renewed hope, which is nice.

First we have to have World War 3 and the great famine of the 21st century. The great famine will end upon the beginning of the restructuring of the Catholic Church for unification. Nothing whatsoever will cause the great famine to end until Christians repent and convert and unite in the one Holy Catholic Church. WW 3 will begin between now and 2021. It will last for about 9 years. The great famine starts about halfway through WW3

    The better question is:

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Christ is going to gather the elect to the elect. Don't look for this to be done because there are many differences in doctrine. Now while that is so, just as every individual has their own weakness and faults that they do in sin.. the same as is with different churches.

What good would a union of churches do? Who would profit from it? Why not let those protestants burn in hell? How far are them protestants from seeing the errors in their way? They don't even know how to hold a correct church service! Why would a decent christian even want to unite with them?
