What is the procedure for check-in baggage in case of connecting flights within the same airline?
Also, how much time should I spare for this procedure in Mumbai Airport? I am travelling by a domestic flight.

For connecting flights when you check in ask them to check your bags right through to your final destination and then check that the baggage claim tags have your final destination on them.
Time wise you need to check in at least 90 minutes in advance and we always allow a bit longer, so plan to be there at least two hours in advance of your flight. Your ticket should tell you the last check in time.

No need to do so.
Check the bags at the first leg and take then only arriving at the destination.
