What names are similar to Linda?
If I have a daughter I want to name her after a dear friend of mine, Linda, who died a few years ago. But ... I don't really like the name Linda - I don't think it's a very feminine name and it's a bit old-fashioned now. I want something that is similar so it still reminds me of my friend but is different enough so my daughter has her own personality and isn't stuck with a name that is too old for her. As an example, I like the name Caitlin but my husband doesn't. What other names are there? Thanks.

If only your husband liked Caitlin! My mum's name is Linda and she named me Caitlin. :) What about one of these?
Madeleine (Mad-Uh-Lyn)- It has the 'lyn' sound at the end like Caitlin.
Lorelin/Loralin- I think this is quite pretty.
Evelyn- I adore this name. She could be Evie or Eve for short but the full name has lyn in it.
Lina- It means palm tree; only one letter different from Linda but it takes away the harsh 'D'
Gwendoline- Old fashioned also but she could be nicknamed Gwen.
Lily- Not that similar but it does start the same as Linda and is very pretty.
Avalin/Avaline- Not sure on this one as it looks a little made up but you may like it. She could be Ava for short.
Marilyn- Another 'lyn' ending name.
Emalyn- This one looks a little made up too but I'm not sure what kind of names you like.
Nadia- I has the 'da' sound like Linda.
I hope this helped. Madeleine and Evelyn are my favourites!
If all else fails, why not use it as a middle name and pick a name you really like for the first name?
