Unlike his cousin, Lynch actually worked his tail off and became a better player for a team that gave him a good line to run behind. He's a real throw-back, a bruiser that pounds defenses while at the same time has slick abilities and is a receiving threat as well.
Russell was a fat, lazy bust but the same cannot be said for Lynch.

If you are talking about his body weight, then about 85% is lard. If you are talking about his brain, though, I'd have to peg it at 100%. What kind of idiot becomes the first overall pick, holds out forever for money he hasn't proven he earned, misses a lot of his rookie season, and then shows up to minicamps looking like a fat@ss, lazy trucker or something (no offense to truckers). And to the jackoff that said Russell was born with more talent than any qb in history, LAY OFF THE PIPE! I needed a good laugh tonight, and that helped -- one of the dumbest things I've ever heard! As a '9er fan, and being from the Bay Area, I hate the Raiders. I do feel bad for my friends that are Raider fans, though; not only has their owner gone senile, they haven't had a decent coach since Gruden, they overpay worthless free agents, but then they go spend the 1st overall pick on a guy who at best will be some kind of fat version of Michael Vick. Not good; as a matter of fact, as much as I hate Alex Smith, I'd still rather have him than the guy that reminds me of a black version of Sloth from the Goonies!

I grew up with marshawn in oakland we used to play streetball after school in elementary at emerson elementary by oakland tech and ill let u know that none of em are really related. Its more like they developed strong relationships and its all like "whats up cuzn" the media doesnt know how to deal with that so they run with it lol. As for jamarcus russell they didnt even meet untill he went to the raiders.

Apperently Josh Johnson is also a cousin of his as well as former NFL WR Robert Jordan, their games at family reunions and such must have been amazing.
