Hardest engineering degree?

Which is the hardest one?

Computer Engineer

Aerospace Engineer

Mechanical....

Electrical...

Industrial...

Civil...

Computer Science (technically counts)

Also, do you think the question has no answer, because "hard" is opinion based not fact? What defines "hard"?

Update:

Sorry, forgot to include some important ones in the list

-Bio-engineering

-Chemical Engineering

-Software Engineering (which is basically Computer Science basically, right?)

If there are any others I missed, please let me know

There is indeed no known formal definition of or measure for this kind of hardness. I propose the following scales:

    1. Physical hardness ; 0 to 10 where 0 = watching TV, eating caviar, drinking champagne, sleeping. 10 = Reinhold Messner challenging adventure.

    2. Mental hardness: 0 to 10 where 0 = watching TV, eating caviar, drinking champagne, sleeping. 10 = Stephen Hawking struggling for several weeks.

First degree studies in the areas you highlight are all at about level 2.5 (i.e level 5 on the mental scale) except for civil and Industrial (2.4). The hardest engineering degree is probably a D.Sc. which might run at around level 2.6 to 2.8. They all score 1.2 on the physical scale (you have to get off your butt sometimes and maybe work late)

    - Electrical Engineering is the hardest because it includes both hardware design and software programing.

    - Chemical Engineering would be the second hardest.

    - Mechanical engineering has only couple of hard classes and I think it would be ranked in easy engineering degrees

-Industrial Engineering & Mechanical Engineering degrees seems to be the easiest I think

Computer Engineer and Electrical Engineer. If you want a life you do not want an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree. I'm living it.

I agree, electrical... It's the math. However! As long as you apply yourself, do the exercises, and like what you are learning (most of the time), it is not bad.

You will have a life! I spent an average of 8 hours per week studying... Which included all classes. The key is to NOT get behind. In any of those fields, actually....don't get behind!

Whichever one you have the least interest in and thus the least motivation to work for.

They all involve a lot of work and all are very hard.
