My iPod won't turn on, help?
The lock switch is off, it's been plugged into a charger that I know works. My computer doesn't detect it. It is an older refurbished 30gb iPod. Looks the same as the Classic. I've also tried holding the menue and select buttons. Its completely unresponsive.
Maybe I could replace the battery myself?

Sounds like youve got a dead battery. You would see something on the screen.Ipod is same as a computer. It has a mother board, ram, power supply, hard drive.
You would see something on the screen even if the little hard drive.
Check to make sure the battery can hold a charge. If it does, then sorry to say but it needs to be repaired if its worth it to you.
