No insure company will allow a secondary driver be put on a policy if they only have a learners permit. They will run your license number against their data base & it will pop up for now that you don't have a license. He must insure the car where he lives no matter what. His legal address where his car is registered at is where he has to insure it. If he moves, he has 30 days to change that over to the new address. That includes his car registration, license, & insurance. Most ppl think they can get away w/ that, but I'm here to testify that is not wise. That is all.

We bought the car here in Oregon. he bought it so he can teach me to drive i have my Learners permit and he is a WA licenced driver. he is going to be moving to OR after we get married so he doesnt want to change the Plates and such to WA.

We need to insure the car before either of us can drive it. so the question is how can we go about this. He again is a Washington licenced Driver and i am in OR with a lerners permit

since you're not licensed, he'd need to insure the vehicle. he can easily obtain out of state insurance through his insurance company...

let me explain further: he would have the vehicle added to his current policy in washington, with it being listed as "garaged" in oregon....virtually all insurance companies will do this in a temporary situation.
