And the girl I'm about to date is super close to her dad and picks on him a lot. Just like I do with my mom.

hmmm... I don't think it matters. Your relationship with your mom, and her relationship with her dad has little to do with your relationship with her. I've dated girls that are close to their family's and I'm really close to mine as well. She just needs to be able to give you what you want in a relationship, make you happy, and vice versa.

How a guy treats his mother is how he will treat his girlfriend/wife. If the two of you can tease each other and joke around that says you can be friends as well as be boyfriend and girlfriend. That is very important in a relationship. This puts you on the same level. Have fun and enjoy the relationship!
