I am a little confused with Ryanairs check in policy, can i still just check in at a desk or do i have to do it online ? Thanks in advance.

Update:

I should add that i booked through a travel company and not Ryanair direct and when i try to check in online i haven't got a reservation number so can't do it...Ahhhh !!

You check in before you go to the airport, it costs plenty if you forget and they then have to do it at the airport. If you're returning in less than 15 days you can check that in as well. After 15 days you'll have to find a computer at your destination to do that, or pay the extra.

You MUST read all of their terms and conditions etc so that you are not caught out by their rules and costings. They are very strict.

I had a similar issue as my email address wouldn't match Ryanair's records for the details of my booking despite me always using the same email address for years. After trying to call Ryanair at god knows how much a minute on hold for a while. I googled my problem and found that others had experienced a similar problem and had been using www.checkinpal.com they offer a free call back service, I provided the agent with my travel dates and they took care of my whole check-in for my outbound and return flight for me. I received my boarding pass within minutes too. Thought this would help anyone in a similar situation.

Especially with Ryanair charging a £70pp fee each way to check in at the Airport.

It looks if your booking through a travel agency will cost you additional €/£70 for each flight if you don't have a reference number.

I quote ryanair terms and conditions:

6.1 All passengers are required to check-in on-line via the Manage my Booking section on http://www.ryanair.com/ and print out their Boarding Pass. The online check in facility is available from 15 days up to the Online Check-In Deadline of four (4) hours before each scheduled flight departure time. Once a passenger has checked in online they can reprint their boarding card up to two (2) hours before each scheduled flight departure time. Each Boarding Pass must be printed and presented on an individual A4 page.

6.2 An online check-in fee applies to all reservations except in respect of certain promotional fares. This fee is charged on a per person/per one-way flight basis and amounts to €7/£7 for bookings made via www.ryanair.com and €14/£14 for bookings made via a call centre or at the airport. Except as provided for in Article 10.2 or 10.3 below, this fee is non-refundable.

6.3 If you fail to present a valid Boarding Pass at airport security or at the boarding gate and there is sufficient time to re-issue you with an alternative form of Boarding Pass, you will be charged a Boarding Pass re-issue fee at the rate set out in our Consolidated Table of Fees [€/£70]. All passengers departing from Moroccan airports must present their Boarding Pass at the local airport check-in facility.

6.4 All non-EU/EEA citizens must have their travel documents checked and Boarding Pass stamped at our Visa/Document Check Desk before going through airport security.
