Is there a patriotic advantage in buying American made cars?

I try to buy American, especially cars. A recent Honda commercial stated that Hondas were made in America. I understand the difference between "made" and "assembled". My question is, is there a patriotic advantage in buying a Ford, GM, or Chrysler over Japanese, Korean, or German?

If your buying a crappy car to be patriotic your an idiot . People tend to buy things that are going to be best for them not there country most crap isn't even American . From the questions I see you ask you seem to fit the international stupid American stereotype.

That depends. Lots of Ford and GM models are assembled (or "made") in Canada or Mexico. Chrysler's single largest shareholder is the Italian automaker Fiat.

Look up "domestic content" sometime. You'll quickly discover that (1) no cars rate at 100 percent, and (2) there's little difference between Detroit and Japan in most segments.

Yes, if you want your money to go to executives in the US. If you want your money to go to workers, no.
