    Add 2y on both sides.

    6x - 2 = 2y

    Divide 2 on both sides.

    3x - 1 = y

    The slope is 3.

    Slope intercept form basically means you are trying to isolate for y.

    In order to find the answer, you simply have to rearrange the equation so y is by itself on one side, and everything else is on the other side:

    6x-2y-2=0

    2y=6x-2

    y=3x-1

    So, your final answer would be y=3x-1

    This is elementary. You need to practice manipulating algebraic statements.

    6x - 2y - 2 = 0.....subtract 6x - 2 from both sides

    -2y = - 6x + 2..... multiply both sides by -1

    2y = 6x - 2

    y = 3x - 1
