    3x - 5y - 9 = 0

    -5y = -3x + 9

    y = (3/5)x + 9/5

    slope is 3/5

    parallel lines have equal slopes

    y - 1 = (3/5)(x - (-9))

    y - 1 = (3/5)(x + 9) [point slope form]

    y - 1 = (3/5)x + 27/5

    y = (3/5)x + 32/5 [slope intercept form]

    5y = 3x + 32

    -3x + 5y = 32

    3x - 5y = -32 [standard form]

    3x - 5y + 32 = 0 [general form]
