African cichlids with serpae tetra?
I decided to make my 30 gal a African cichlid tank. I bought my first one last night, less than 2 in, but I have a school of serpae tetra. Should I rehome them and just have the cichlids?
How many can I have in a 30g?
And I don't know what region they come from, it just says assorted African cichlids at the LFS. I got a yellow one with black stripes and buying another tomorrow.
Or can I keep 3-4 cichlids with my parrot fish in my 55g?

Electric yellow or possibly bumblebee (looks like a bumblebee-yellow w/black stripes). My favorites are Demosoni (blue with black stripes) and electric blues--blue with yellow fins. The tetras should be rehomed since they can be seen as food after a while. I do feed my fish (bigger now) live minnows on occassion. At that size, I would put around 5-6 fish in, but understand that you would have to upgrade the tank because Cichlids get big. 55G will be a minimum with 75 plus gallons being better. Just consider that before you buy more fish. Will you be able to upgrade? Make sure you have all of the essentials and these fish can be a joy to have. Good luck!

African cichlids is a huge family of fish some can grow an inch some can grow up to 12 inches.
You need to know exactly what you have and are getting .
In 30 gallons you are limited to what you can have .
The Tetras are not the best idea in with African cichlids for many reasons .
