You make a good point. Most people don't contact their elected officials.

They represent you, so you should tell them what you think. I personally did not contact them on this issue because it is not a priority for me.

In California we have two of the most liberal Senators in the nation. Feinstein will not listen. I have contacted my House of Representatives member.

My Senator is 100% behind the background checks, so no, didn't need to write. Have written to both of them before, however, on issues where I wasn't sure where they stand, on issues that I really care about.

I've tried but I'm more conservative then liberal, and my home of record is NY. So I usually just get the generic pre-made e-mail response stating they understand my concerns but need to blah blah blah.

They might as well just send a one sentence e-mail saying "Thanks for writing, we don't care what you think."

Would just save time and be a lot more honest.

Some reasonable background checks are okay with me. But the Second Amendment let the evil genie out of the bottle. As such how do we get him back in? I'm afraid the devil, along with the help of the GOP, won this one a long time ago.
