Springfield XDs .45 Vs. XD .40 sub-compact?
I'm looking into getting my first hand gun for a CC. Its between the
Springfield Armory 40S&W Sub Compact XD with 3" Barrel, or the DX-S Compact 45ACP.
I don't mind the extra kick from the .45 and the XDS45 is actually smaller/more thin than the XD40. Bigger round in a smaller gun, I really like that. But the XD40 has 12 round double stack mag where as the XD45 has a 6 round single stack.
I just don't know.
Opinions, preferences, comments, ideas?
Thanks!

I carried a Glock 27 for 3 years on the job. It was a division gun so i didn't get to maintain it after I retired, but I do have a Glock 23 that i admire so much and have owned for virtually 20 years. I've considered getting a Glock 27 as it is much less difficult to hide than the 23 and additionally it is a hundred% riskless. I have appeared at the XDS and that i really don't like the external safeguard.. Having been in just a few gunfights in my 29 years in legislation enforcement and running a SWAT/Tactical unit my experience is that the simpler a weapon is to deliver into motion, the easier. Relating to one of the vital contributors who indicated he carried his gun with no cartridge within the chamber, i hope he by no means has the get together to wish it because the prolong triggered through having to chamber a circular could also be fatal. Moreover, while there some tricks that may be carried out one exceeded and they are a ways from handy, it willl most often require both fingers to chanber a round. Check into what occurred to probably the most FBI retailers within the FBI shootout in Miami-Dade County as it illustrates what happens if you have been shot and can't use each arms to safeguard your self and/or load your weapon.

.40 cal in any name is a better deal, more modern, holds more, still a great man stopper. I would get a Beretta or Sig Sauer .40 cal.
