Should my graduation gown be my actual height or my height in the shoes I'll be wearing?

I don't know which size to order!

On our schools website the caps and gowns are by heights i.e. 5'3"-5'5" which is my height range barefoot, but if I wear heels to graduation it might be shorter than it's supposed to be and I'll look silly.

Do they take those extra few inches into account when they label them? Should I order the next one up? If I do might it drag the ground?

I graduated not so long ago and the girls were asked to add the height of the heels so that the gown wouldnt be too short (it is suppossed to have a specific lenth) So if you are 5'4 and youre wearing 4 inch heels you would say youre 5'8.If you are not sure of the shoes you will be wearing, add 3 inches to your height so that you cant go wrong.

I dont know if they take the shoe factor into account since many schools are different but maybe you could call and ask just to make sure.

Get your actual height so the gown won't be on the floor when you walk across the stage. Plus you can show off your cute shoes :)

It should be your actual height. I don't suggest on going a size up. Good luck!
