Tylanol three pills not strong enough?

I had my adenoids removed and I've been taking them for pain every 4 hours since Wednesday at 5 and they have given me absolutely no pain reduction. It took me thirty minutes to swallow two spoon fulls of mashed potatoes yesterday. My throat it absolutely killing me. All these pill do is make me very tired . That is about it. Can I take an Advil with it or what?
