I don't know how to feel about a car accident?

I was involved in a car accident and I don't know how to feel about it.

I'm a teenage driver and I feel so bad for the financial burden that I'm putting on my parents.

I just keep replaying the moment that my car made impact with the other car. I can't stop thinking what if my friends were in the car. Now I don't even have a car. What if i got hurt? What if the other guy had gotten hurt.

I was given a ticket, but I still don't feel like it's my fault and I don't know if I want to take it to court, because it's going to take up my parents time and money . I don't know what I'm suppose to do. I feel like I should do something to make it up to my parents and everything, but geez I'm just a kid. I can take a minimum wage paying job but that's hardly going to cover the cost of the ticket, car repairs, insurance rates and everything.

I feel really nervous about driving again. It's almost summer should I just not drive anymore? Then my parents will have to drive me everywhere.

Hey, don't go getting all down on yourself. Look at it this way - nobody got hurt. Lots of accidents don't have such happy endings!

Of course it's going to have an impact on you. At this point in your life such an event has huge significance because it's nothing you've ever experienced before. If you were 40, you would still be upset but it wouldn't be such a big deal.

Look, it was an ACCIDENT, only YOU know if any of it was, in any way, your fault.

Best idea is to talk to your parents and work out some plan to pay any debts you feel you owe. If they are decent people, they will understand how you feel and help you out. Make a plan and stick to it - it'll work out.

Ease yourself back into driving, don't let one minor accident affect the rest of your life.

Be grateful that you have been given the knowledge of what CAN happen on the road - it should make you become a better, safer driver. Bad memories fade over time.

Best of luck and keep your spirits up. ;-)
