Shocks n struts is it really costly?

How much does shocks and struts cost? To do front nd the back on Saturn ls 2000 . I went to tire plus nd they tellin me 625 just for front. Then *** back do back is 345. This is too much.

    Well they really do try to charge that much.

    You should take it to cheaper garage. There is nothing to replacing the shocks and struts. Shocks and struts are about $100/set.

    Hogwash! Front KYB Struts cost $71.00 each. rear shocks are $51.00 each from: Partstrain.com. Carquest has KYB products locally.

    Any trusted private mechanic would do the work for a "whale" of a lot less than $970.00.

    What choice do you have. Shocks/Struts are a SAFETY issue. Worn shocks/Struts increase your stopping distance by up to 12-ft. And they wear out your tires and suspension system. Read this post on shocks/struts

    You need to ask friends, relatives, neighbors for the name of a stand-alone, independent garage that's recommended by others to be good and reasonable.

    A dealer, or chain is working off a list of set prices.....the manager is probably on commission for selling as much in repairs as he can.

    if you do it yourself it should be around $100 for the front

    $80 for the rear
