Rebuilt transmission has very weak reverse that works every once in awhile?

I rebuilt my A4LD transmission in my 94 Ranger last weekend. I got it moving in all 4 forward gears but no reverse, I ordered a new valve body and replaced it today, now I have a reverse but it is very weak, and sometimes it won't engage, but when it does you can add gas to it and it won't speed up all the time. it don't even register on the speedometer when it does speed up.

I'm sure everything is there and is working to the most part properly but there is something off that is not providing the power that I need in reverse.

all this is when the truck is still on jack-stands. what would cause a transmission to act this way.

Update:

its not a new pump its the same one that was in it. only reason the transmission was rebuilt was that there was no overdrive and 3rd gear was slipping bed, found out the Overdrive band was burnt out and 3rd gear clutches was shot. but I had reverse before the rebuild and we didn't touch the reverse except for a new band.

it was suppose to be a temporary fix intill I bought a new one.

    I DIDNT HAVE REVERSE BUT I HAD 4 FORWARD ON A CHEVY TRANS I FINALLY REALIZED IT WAS THE PUMP UP FRONT WAS WRONG, DID YOU REBUILD YOURS AND SEAL IT CORRECTLY, SOUND LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE GO BACK IN AND SEE , THERE ARE 4 O RINGS ON THE OUTPUT SHAFT OF THE PUMP ON MINE AND IF ONE DOESNT SEAT RIGHT YOU LOSE PRESSURE AND IT DOESNT WORK, I HATE TO SAY I TOOK THE DAMNED THING OUT 5 TIMES BEFORE I GOT IT WORKING CORRECTLY AND FOUND THE REBUILT PUMP THEY GAVE ME WAS FOR A DIFFERENT MODEL AND DIDINT WORK EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID IT WOULD, HOPEFULLY YOU USED ALL NEW SEALS ETC, THEY DONT WORK A SECOND TIME,

    Did You Check The Line Pressure In Every Gear In Loads.Diagnose The Total Pressures Do Accordingly.
