Does getting your ears pierced by a gun hurt?
I'm 15 boy and Im getting my ears done by a piercing gun tomorrow. Im going to Claires Accessories.
On a scale of 1-10. 10 Being the worst? Does it hurt more than an injection at the dentist in your mouth? or getting a tooth pulled when the dentist put the needle in the wrong place and you Felt everything (This happened)
Thanks in advance :)

I got mine pierced when I was 15 & I expected it to be painful, but it hardly hurt at all. Like a 2 or 2.5 out of 10. Dentist mouth injection or tooth pulling is waaayyyy worse, trust me. Way worse lol. All you literally feel is like this tiny little pinch, then it's done.The only bad part is that your earlobes feel really hot after, but only for about 15 minutes then it goes away. Overall it's pretty simple C:

Getting pierced with a gun is a really stupid decision. Never, under any circumstance, is getting pierced with a gun ever better than with a needle. For one, guns aren't sterile. The alcohol they "clean" them off with doesn't get all the skin and blood, so you get to come into contact with whoever's skin and blood that was on there before. Two, what they do could barely be considered "piercing" as the studs they use in them are incredibly dull. I sure hope you weren't planning on a cartilage piercing. Check out cauliflower ear. That can be the result of getting pierced with a gun. Claire's also gives you a "cleaning" solution that contains peroxide. Something you should avoid at all costs on a new piercing.
Really, going to a professional isn't much more expensive or at all worse than going to some teen whose "training" amounts to a 10 minute video.
I also have friends who got pierced with a gun, and their piercings were sore for months longer than mine ever were.

I have double piercings in my ears, and it only hurts for like half of a millisecond. Just feels like a quick "slap" on your ear. Just make sure this time that you keep the area clean, and follow all the directions they give you on "aftercare" for your ear piercings. I used alcohol 4 times a day to keep the germs away, and rotated the earrings one time around when I would apply the alcohol for bacteria prevention. And hey, dont worry so much. You will be fine.

in my option it does not hurt at all. the right ear hurts less then the left ear does. i got my 3 holes and my cartilage done with a gun. its WAY better then a needle because you need to take the needle out, then put in the earring. when you use a gun you can just get the earring in with nothing else. on a scale from one to ten about a 1. its like a pinch. nothing bad at all. but DO NOT get it done at Claire's. they are not trained to do earrings. i got my 2 one done and it was so out of place. do to a tattoo shop where they are TRAINED to do earrings. good luck.

when I first got my ears pierced I was 6 I went to Clare's but my ear did get infected and I had to take them out. they didn't get infected cause the gun it was bc I wasn't turning them. but do me the left one hurt probably like a. 5/10 bc I got that one done first and after I didn't want to do another one but I could hardly feel the right. I suggest that you get both done at the same time though. I go back today to get them redone. wish me luck :)

No, it doesn't. I am 16 and got mine pierced when i was 8 and i would say the pain is only about 4. It only lasts for a fraction of a second.

depends where you're getting pierced.
the lobe doesn't hurt at all, you can hardly feel it. the tougher cartilage on the upper part of the ear hurts a bit, although I've only had my ear lobe done with the gun, the cartilage at the top of my ear I did myself.
lobe = 1-2
cartilage = 5-6

Yes it does but only for a few seconds and it is more of a stun than a pain, 8/10

no it doesnt
when i had my ear pierced i was about 16 and the best way to describe how it feels is just like a split second pinch on the ear
after the ear is pierced it feels more sore then painful
nothing no boy/man cant handle
