What's the difference between Liner short's and regular Cycling short's?

I know you wear the liner short's under regular short pant's. Have you used both? Do you get the same support with liner short's?

You can wear them with cycling shorts. but not by them self. If they have the chamois they will have some support. Why not just wear regular cycling shorts under your pants. That is what I do.

No, cycling shorts do not have liners. They do,have a chamois padding. The padding makes cycling distance a comfortable thing. When I first started riding, I did so in lined jogging shorts. There is no comparison.
