Why there should be a black history month?

Why not? most of the history taught in schools is white history,the black people in the country and black children in schools need to know their history,i was a librarian when the first black history month was celebrated,i bought loads of books,tapes and leaflets for the occasion and did a big display in the library,i got some black writers and poets to come and give readings of their work,i am white so i got all my black staff involved,we all had a great time,the books all got borrowed, i live in the east end of london,very multicultural,and we all get on together very well.

If there was a white history month, I bet people would be pissed. I honestly would have nothing against a black history month, But there should also be a white one a chineese one, a hindi one, an arab one, etc, etc

Because Black people are wonderful and have made contributions and sacrifices to society. We should celebrate this and encourage everyone to strive toward this type of greatness.
