Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, of course. Other nobility were also opposed.
Edmund Burke was a British politician who initially favored the revolution but grew to oppose it after it became too violent and radical for most peoples' liking.

a million- the revolution has 3 "starts" : - it first started in june, 1789, in Versailles while deputies destroyed the absolutism ; - then on july, the 14th (14 july) in Paris ; - finally it uprised contained in something of france (july-august) : that's called the super worry. 2- basic weapons have been weapons, rifles (not muskets !!), and ordinary pikes. yet your question isn't good, reason you cant say the "prosperous" fought against "peasants" : the french revolution is distinctive. 3- happy with others 4- idem only to be precise. the priority of the french revolution isn't a combat berween prosperous and undesirable ppl, however the combat between noblemen (who had many rights, like no taxes paying, looking, and so on) and others who had not those rights and to serve the noblemen. that's the meaning of equality (liberty - equality - fraternity) = each and every individual, noble or not has a similar rights as his neighbour. abt what Paul B stated : some issues are super clichés, and others are fake (what he stated abt the Marseillaise).
