Flushed something down the toilet... It works fine, but will it get clogged later?
I accidentally flushed half of a plastic clamshell packaging thing down the toilet. It's like a sheet of really thin plastic. Like, you know the packaging that cell phones come in? Something like that.
At first, the toilet wouldn't flush properly. I tried reaching down and grabbing it. For a second I could feel it with the tips of my fingers, but then it drifted farther into the pipe. Then I tried plunging the toilet. After a while it seemed like the obstruction passed.
I tried testing the toilet, and it flushes PERFECTLY FINE now. Even when I put toilet paper in there. My question is... Will it eventually get clogged later? Or did the plastic thing pass through?

It depends on how big the plastic is... call the plumber if it gets worse. Toilets are only meant to take toilet paper but if it is little then it won't hurt it. If it is big call a plumber RIGHT AWAY before it get's worse and you will have to pay a lot of money. Good luck!

You will know in a couple days whether it is Hung up at some connection. Paper, hair, and stuff will eventually get lodged on it and shrink the opening till it backs up. The pipes get bigger as they get farther from the home. So if it hasn't caused a problem in a week the chances are it has passed on...
