How do I sign in to my LGapptv account on my new TV?

I just got a LG 47LA6200 smart 3D TV. However, when I went to sign into my LGApptv account (which I need in order to download new apps as well as access other services), the option to sign in was grayed out. I contacted LG customer support, but the technicial was the worst customer supprt ive ever had. She took well over 20 minutes to respond to me, and told me to click on options that werent there... got menu items incorrect. Just had no idea what she was talking about. Anyway... after about 3 hours, of what should have taken 30 minutes max, she came to the conclusion that my 1 day old TV is defective and that I should exchange it. Before I do, does anybody have any ideas as to what I can do to fix this?

I can clcik sign in, and it takes me to the info. I enter my email and password, but then the big sign in area is blacked out.

    First of all, sorry to hear about the hard time you had to face with this LGappTV login issue.

    Now since its a new TV, the only possible reason for the interface not working properly might be the lack of a firmware update. The login process is pretty simple and similar to a standard account login so once you have updated the firmware on your LA6200, all the plugins on the Smart TV interface pages should work without any problem.
