Why are catholics always against..?

The Church must be the voice of morality to a sinful and seductive world. All the things you mentioned are immoral. You might ask yourself personally why you are wanting things to be immoral. The reason tht the Philippines struggles economically is because they choose not to do the things tht make the country more properous. A good example is when the Philippines refused to renew the lease to the US for the Naval and Air Force bases. People call it a crab mentality because when you place crabs in a basket you do not have to put a lid on it because if a crab tries to escape the other crabs will pull him back in. Some of this comes from greed and pride which are deadly sins. God bless!

The Catholic Church is one, united Church, the world over, not just in the Philippines. The Catholic Church is against all of those things.

Jesus speaks against divorce. He says "what God has joined together no man can separate." This means that if a couple is validly married in the eyes of God, it is until death parts them. That is a vow a couple makes before God. You can't promise to love, honor, etc. until death do you part, and then change your mind...if you do your promise before God is worthless.

Same-sex marriage goes against the natural law. God gave us the natural law. Marriage is a natural institution. It predates the church and the state. Neither one can redefine it. Marriage by definition is between a man and a woman. Marriage is for the purpose of family, and united selfless love. It is not a contract between two consenting adults. That is the secular view.

Reproductive health...is not health. Giving women hormones to make them unnaturally sterile, goes against nature and that healthy function of their bodies. It is the only prescription given to stop a natural process. The first purpose of sexual intercourse is reproduction, this doesn't mean couples must be trying to have a baby every time they have sex, but the procreative aspect must be respected and understood. God gives life and we cooperate with that. Using artificial means to stop this process, rejects God's gift and cheapens the sexual act to merely a physical expression of desire and not a fully giving act of love.

The Church cannot redefine what God has defined.

Actually, it has led to more people having premarital sex, and to more abortions, and to more unwed mothers, etc. Because of contraception, sex has become a recreational activity for many teens, and an act that some people do on the spur of the moment, or a little tipsy at a party without thought of consequence of the life that may be born, or aborted.

Because they follow the traditional attitudes.

Perhaps not all of the rules 2000 years ago apply today.

But the Catholic Church is trying to stay true to the teachings of Christ. Their church is the most authentic church of Jesus.

As for Catholicism being the reason why your country is still a Third World country ..no, it's not about religion. Marriage laws do not determine the economy.

The economy is determined by how much money a country can generate by exporting to other countries. This may be natural resources. It may be technological expertise. Money can come in from outside through tourism too. Today, oil, technology and tourism are the big money-makers.

If your country is still a Third World country, it's because it is not "earning" enough money from the rest of the world.

And this has nothing to do with individual marriage behavior. Perhaps your country could start with better education of their population.

Actually, the Philippines is considered a First World country.

All are grave sins to God. Same sex marriage is immoral and would destroy the family. Actually the same can be said for the other to in different ways.

Divorce --

As for contraceptives, Catholics believe that it is a form of abortion because it controls the ability to the sperm and egg to conceive, and they also believe that they will lead to more people having premarital sexual relationships which is wrong. My personal opinion on the matter is that things like condoms, birth control pills, etc are fine as long as they are used only between a husband and his wife, but things that cause a fertilized egg to either release from the uterine wall or prevent that fertilized egg from attaching to the wall are wrong.

THe attitude of teh catholic church falls victim to education every time. It is probably only ten percent of what it was fifty years ago in Australia, education is the only answer for a better life.
