Should Oilers GM Kevin Lowe be Fired?

The Oilers need new direction and fast.

  • Kevin Lowe won't be fired as GM of the Oilers, because he isn't the GM of the Oilers. In fact, Lowe just fired their old GM, Steve Tambellini two days ago, and hired Craig McTavish to take his place. Kevin Lowe is NOT the general manager of the Edmonton Oilers.

Thats a very good posibility. The Oilers have been bad for a long time now. Being bad results in high draft picks. Their problem is that they have no clue how to develope talent. They bring in these young kids with talent and the talent gets wasted because they have nobody to learn from. Who is Taylor Hall learning from on the Oilers? Who is teaching him the ropes of being a top notch NHL goal scorer? NOBODY! Thats the problem. And being in Edmonton should be an advantage, they have a great fan base, but once again theres nothing to cheer for. They need talent, and more veteran players. But most of all, they need a new GM.
