What is singularity? (Physic question)?

I searched it up on the internet and when I read them I do not get them. My dad say that singularity is a single particle or atom. I just want a simple definition and something that I would be able to understand. Is my father wrong or right? And if he is wrong, what is it?

    In astronomy --

A singularity is the central point of a black hole. Where ALL the mass of the black hole is concentrated.

"This solution had a peculiar behaviour at what is now called the Schwarzschild radius, where it became singular, meaning that some of the terms in the Einstein equations became infinite."

that is a quote from here :

    By the way -

Your dad was not wrong. The word has quite a few different meanings.

But the black hole meaning is the one you'll most commonly encounter

The simple answer is that all solutions to Einsteins equations result in a divide by zero at r=0 (r is the distance from the center of the black hole). Generally, this in considered undefined in mathematics. This is more of an indication that Einstein's theory simply doesn't work at the center of a black hole and that there is some currently unknown effect that prevents it from happening. Your dad is wrong.

A gravitational singularity (sometimes called a spacetime singularity) is a term used to describe the centre of a black hole where the gravity is thought to be infinite. However, most scientists do not think that it is actually infinite, but it is useful for their maths to treat it like it is.

They mean that our modern-day expertise of physics does not enable us to appreciate what happens in this form of situation. this is nevertheless an unknown, as this is previous the fringe of our modern-day skills to inspect physics. that doesn't recommend it consistently would be - submit to in innovations that for many of our historic previous, radio waves have been the two previous our expertise. this is to assist understand such frontiers of physics that we build machines like the LHC which could push the certainty limitations somewhat extra suitable. there is not any indication of any gods via any evidence. in case you prefer to postulate a god as area of a hypothesis, be happy to realize this, even with the shown fact that it potential you may ought to grant the finished explanation of that at a mathematical formulaic point, suitable right down to each component that explains this form of god. In different words, you will ought to have an entire expertise of this form of god to have the skill ot use it as area of the reason. this could certainly entail expertise why a god could exist in the 1st place. in case you haven't any longer have been provided that, you at the instant are not in a position to be taken heavily. as much as now, no person has even tried to try this, as all claims of gods are imprecise and unspecific. So, a tenet of god is as smart and smart as a tenet of 12 magic turtles in this form of context. this is why physicists do no longer try this.
