Who said this about belief in God ?
Who said "We all worship the same God, we just call Him different names " ? Please note that I'm asking who said it (or wrote it) - I am not interested in a tirade from religious nutters all trying to deny the validity of any other religion, or spouting meaningless quotes from one book or another.
Thank you both for your answers - nothing to choose between them, so I'll have to go with the earlier one. Thanks again

Here are a few specific quotes that convey that message...
God has no religion.
Each one prays to God according to his own light.
- Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi
God's Spirit moves through us and the world
at a pace that can never be constricted
by any one religious paradigm.
I love that.
- Bono
More are the names of God and infinite are the forms
through which He may be approached.
In whatever name and form you worship Him,
through them you will realise Him.
- Ramakrishna
Our creator is the same and never changes
despite the names given Him by people here
and in all parts of the world.
Even if we gave Him no name at all,
He would still be there, within us,
waiting to give us good on this earth.
- George Washington Carver
How can we live in harmony? First we need to know we
are all madly in love with the same God.

Something like that has been said by many different people in many different ways.
Learn how to use reliable "quotation" sources, like Bartlett's Familiar Quotations. Trying to track down the source of a quote on the internet is virtually impossible thanks the the prevalence of stupid "quote websites" that make up quotes and attribute them to famous people who never said them.
