Are there any bands that you should like but dont?
I'm sure everybody has had a band reccomended to them that based on your normal taste in music you should like...yet for some reason, you don't like them.
Dragonforce for me...should like them, but I don't.
How about you?
I think my main problem with Dragonforce is that on paper, they look perfect, technical, fast paced, energetic power metal...however all their songs sound alike. Bad production values on the albums (seriously, most of their songs sound like a Borg raping an 8-bit Nintendo) and all sense of melody is lost in a flurry of sweep arpeggios and tremolo picking. I think they have one exception with "Cry Thunder" which I actually liked, but thats not enough to make me like them as a band.

It would have to be the Beatles, I did not like them from the first time they came out. And I don't hate them, In fact I love most of their songs when they are covered by other artist. I was 16 when they first hit the scene, and I was raised on the blues up until that point, so by being raised on the blues, I fell into the heavier/rock styles of The Stones, Animals, and Yardbirds. So no I should like their music because it is good music, but just not what I like, as their music has nothing to do with the blues, their music was more of the '50s rock n roll sound when they first came out. But hey I do own all of their original albums, I bought when they first came out. And the reason you might ask? Is why would one buy something they don't like, well the reason and it's a good reason, as the Beatles fan base at that time was 90% girls, one had to have their music in your collection, if one wanted the girls to hang around. And yes these albums have been played many time over the years, but not for my pleasure, but for friends. Because I don't like something does not mean I can't play it for friends or others.

For me that would be : Cannibal Corpse. If i can't understand what the heck you are growling then I don't like it. I tried listening to Hammer Smashed Face because it was played on my songza radio and I liked it up until they sang. :P lol but I like metal in general depending on what it is. (Classic, and anything sort of symphonic like Angel Vivaldi or Children of Bodom. I also love deathcore... So I usually understand what people are saying, just not CC.

Based on the other music I listen to I should probably like architects an the devil wears prada (yes I'm a fan of the 'core genres, crap excuse for metal, should listen to.... , heard it all before) but I just can't seem to get into them. There's a couple of parts in songs I like but on the whole nothing really makes me think to listen to them again and again

Ugh. Too many. Everyone says I should like Sleeping With Sirens, but I really don't... Just their music doesn't attract me for some reason.

Mastodon. With my taste in music I should love Mastodon. I don't know why I cant get into them, I know they are a very talented band but there's just something about their music that I cant connect with.
I don't dislike them, but they do nothing for me.

Dragonforce for me too. Too much guitar wankery.
Also, The Clash. They were supposedly a punk band, but most of their albums aren't punk at all so I never got into them. I liked their self-titled album and "London Calling", though.
