If reading the bible makes me one christian, wouldn't reading Twilight?

make one a wolf/vampire/human?

and reading harry Potter making you a wizard?

Reading 50 shades and making you bored. oh, wait, that still happens.

Reading Winnie the Pooh would make you a heffalump.

Update:

Was said to me in a previous YA that I had to read the bible to become a christian and have faith.

Ive read the bible, thanks..

Im a Atheist.

I've read the Bible. It made me more atheist, not more Christian. My friend had a faith crisis recently and I advised her to NOT read the Bible. She laughed, and it is funny, but I meant it.

Reading a holy book does not make you a follower of that religion... Reading the Bible doesn't automatically make you a Christian anymore than reading Torah makes you Jewish or the Quran, Muslim. Depending on the denomination of Christianity, being a "true" believer requires genuine faith, following doctrine of the church, and/or practicing good works.

Since when does reading the bible make you a Christian?

I often wonder where people come up with these ideas.

If you actually read the Bible you would know that reading the Bible is not what makes one a Christian.

I think you can be a Christian without ever reading the bible, but I think you should've added the having faith part which would've made more sense.

for instance, do you remember those books "Animorphs" well these girls in my elementary school read them and truly believed they were animorphs lmao

No, reading the Bible does NOT make anyone a Christian, just as you described! Christianity is NOT something YOU label yourself, but, a lifestyle that people can see JESUS through you. I admit, it is not common to see a TRUE Christian.

Apparently, Jesus thought that being a Christian was about more than what you read or professed

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
