I assume you mean spiritually.
They are doing what they did when they rejected God and wanted to be just like all the other nations and have political power and a king. They really are no different that any other nation on earth. They forsook God and His Christ so God divorced them in A.D. 70.

You have to be more specific, but if you are talking location wise, then it borders the Mediterranean Sea on it's western borders, to the north is Lebanon and east of that is Syria, it also touches Egypt, and most of it's eastern border is to Jordan.

In 12 hours it will be on the opposite side as it is now.
