Great, must see TV shows ?

I've watched sopranos (greatest show), dexter, the wire (second best), breaking bad (awesome) , six feet under.

What else should I watch ?

Ps. I'm not really into basic cable shows. I watched prison break and it was good for a bit but it was honestly ****.

** nothing before 2000

Update:

NO BASIC CABLE SHOWS !!!pls

Update 2:

Unless they're really good!

Also I'm not really a big fan of sci fi /fanstasy or stuff like game of thrones. More into realistic dramas.

All the shows you mentioned are some of my favorites. I agree about Prison Break. The first season was decent, but then it just got weird and stupid.

The Walking Dead. - Surprisingly good and not like a cheesy horror movie like you'd expect. It has a good story, strong characters, and is exciting.

Game of Thrones. - One of my all time favorites, but some people don't like it because there is so much going on. There are tons of characters and the storyline is complex. Game of Thrones is not for the simple minded.

Spartacus. - I watched the first episode of Spartacus when it aired four years ago and decided the show wasn't for me. I thought it was lame and boring. But then a year ago a friend told me to watch the second espisode on and it was much better. The effects are an aquired taste, but it's inspired by true historical events, and has become one of my more favorite shows as of recently.

Deadwood. - I don't much care for westerns. But Deadwood is so much more than your typical western. Also inspired by true historical events. Deadwood is very entertaining if you give it a chance. It is also quite hilarious. I think it holds the record for the amount of profanity in a TV show. However, the show's third season ends on a cliffhanger and was never renewed for a 4th season. Very sad.

Homeland. - Homeland will be Showtime's flagship after Dexter's 8th and final season. I watched the first episode and then immediately afterword I bought the first season online. I was hooked. I can't wait for the third season.

Boardwalk Empire. - Very similar to The Sopranos, but based in the prohibition era.

Rome. - Another show based off true historical events.

    24. - I started watching 24 during its 7th season and was surprised to how good it actually was. From the preveiws I always assumed it would be kinda lame. I'm glad I was wrong. One of the best action shows ever.

I just started watching The Americans which I can't fully recommend because it's still new to me, but so far I like it enough to mention it.

There are three mini series' that come to mind that are also really good. Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and Generation Kill. Band of Brothers is amazing.

Here's a list of shows that I watch, but aren't something I would recommend to anyone.

Fringe. - I'm not big on most Sci-fi shows, but this one was better than most

Sherlock. - This show stays true to the Sherlock Holmes character and brings him into modern day. The only problem is that it's on the BBC, so they have to filter some of the content which does stray from the original character. Like his drug habit for example.

    Lie to Me.

    Person of Interest

    True Blood

    Burn Notice

    Suits

    House

    The Mentalist

You didn't mention any comedies, so I left all those off my list.

Game of Thrones may be in a fantasy setting, but the relationships and interactions between the characters are very real. Try to look past the fantasy element. I pretty sure you would enjoy Homeland on ShowTime. Its the recent best drama winner at the emmys, and Claire Danes is stellar in it. You can try Boardwalk Empire, but it is very slow. It has the gangster element from The Sopranos and Terrance Winter was/is a writer for both shows.

Source(s): I love six feet under, breaking bad, and the soprano. I need to get around to watching the wire.
