Bachelors in Accounting vs Bachelors in Business Economics?

I am a high school student who is finally considering two different majors:

Accounting or Business Economics.

Here are the perceptions I have drawn from online research:

Business Economics = much higher salaries, more interesting, more intellectually stimulating, less job opportunities, less room for advancement, more prestigious. Also, what type of professions can someone a Business Economics major pursue anyways?

Accounting = lower salaries, less interesting, less intellectually stimulating, less glamorous, much more job opportunities, more possibilities for higher advancement.

I am in the International Baccalaureate, so I want to major in the more intellectually rigorous of the two. My parents are also looking for prestige in a sense. I want them to be proud when they say "My son is a [accounting or economics] major.

I plan to minor in either statistics or mathematics with either major. Which one is better?

I just do not understand what types of jobs Business Economics majors get. When I view lists of highest paid majors, Economics is usually on there, yet I do not know what jobs they get. Engineering = engineer, project manager, etc. What about Economics?

Accounting, on the other hand, is never on those lists.
