I have a background audio virus. What the hell is going on?

You know? Those viruses that make it so that audio plays on your computer even when all programs are closed, usually bad advertisements. They also play every regular time interval, then stop suddenly. Well anyway I got this especially annoying one, I have no idea what is going on. I think it's a really bad home movie of some sort. It starts with some guy breathing really heavily, then randomly praying the our father. Crickets are chirping in the background, and there are gun reloading and explosion sounds. The guy prays really annoyingly. Some guys are also talking while the guy prays and breathes like he's about to cry. His voice irritates me. Then someone else starts to talk about the bible and cops or something. I can stand stupid advertisements, but does anyone know what the hell this is supposed to be?

Do you have something called Curse Client? They appear to play advertisements. Otherwise, that is very odd. I suggest doing a scan with MalwareBytes. It is free and gets rid of virtually anything. Sounds very unusual.

This procedure has succeeded for others here who've complained of background noises/voices/music.

    Try this:

Firstly, boot your computer to the Safe Mode menu screen. You do this by repeatedly pressing F8 as soon as you boot up. Once there, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with Networking. Continue to boot from there, by pressing Enter. You will now see some drivers being loaded. There will be a pause at some point. This usually lasts for no more than 30 seconds.

Now open your browser and download TDSSKiller.exe from Kaspersky Lab. It's tiny, and takes just a minute to run. It hunts down and kills a specific family of rootkits.

Regardless of the results, download and run Dr. Web CureIt! (still in Safe Mode):

Now download the free version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM). Install it and get updates, then run a full scan:

You should now delete TDSSKiller.exe and Dr. Web CureIt!, as updated versions are often made available. MBAM can be easily uninstalled, but it may prove to be beneficial in the future.

    Hope this helps.
