It's actually true, pumpkin... the Rohingya, who tend to be Muslim, are among the most persecuted minorities in the world, and are harassed by the Burmese government since the 70s - they aren't allowed to be citizens, despite having been a part of Burma for centuries, they are denied access to education, they can't own land, they can't travel officially, and they're required to sign a pledge that they'll have no more than 2 kids.
There have been violent clashes between the Rakhine people - who are generally Buddhists - and the Rohingya...clashes that have displaced tens of thousands, that have killed hundreds, and destroyed communities. These clashes may be based on land issues, fundamentally, but they've been fueled by religious conflict that the government has been making worse for its own political purposes, and some of the Buddhist monks who participated in the democracy effort have been actively blocking humanitarian aid.
Folks, these are not Muslim troops - they're old men and children and families that have been attacked and oppressed and are fleeing to Bangladesh by thousands. Yes, there have been separatist movements, but this is not what's going on now...
Also, this is Myanmar - hardly a bastion of democracy under attack by fundamentalists...while Islamic fundamentalism is on the rise among the Rohingya, it's primarily because the government has removed their ability to educate their children anywhere but religious schools - a circumstance that radical Islamists have exploited - and that and their anger at the oppression they've suffered has served to radicalize the population.
Hey King - if you don't like to be blamed for the atrocities committed by your fellow religionists, cupcake, then don't do that to others.
What use is your religion if it doesn't even teach THAT?

Religion of peace is trying to dominate and subjugate the Buddhist community in Burma so there were some minor skirmishes.
I fail to understand why mainstream media is tarnishing the image of Burma but is totally silent on the ethnic cleansing in Mussslim countries like Pakistan.

This is not news it's been happening for hundreds of years. The buddhists are only defending themselves fom hundreds of years of Muslim Oppression. Muslims have been exterminating buddhists for a long time look it up. Also you should know that there is nothing prohibiting buddhists from defending themselves.

So...humans living in a land with enormous strife, attacked other humans living in the same chaotic region.
These things happen for complex reasons. Just like the Crusades had just as much to do with territory & resources as it did with religion, I am going to guess that this, also, represents a conflict that is too complex to be summed up with a slogan.

Buddhists are human too.
They have been persecuted for years because they are an easy target.
The Dali Lama had a similar problem in tibet.
Sometimes anger overrides belief and common sense.
