Xbox Gold question? Help.?
I was searching for Xbox live gold 12 month cards, and i saw something about connecting your Xbox to an Ethernet cable or something and to your router, why would you do that, is it a substitute for Wi-Fi? And could some one maybe give me a link for a 12 month card that's cheaper than say $45 or preferably $40 or cheaper. Thanks;D

"George Washington" doesn't know what he's talking about when he says there are no 12 month gold cards for that cheap...... there's a link in my sources (although Best Buy does a discrete promotion sometime in August to sell the cards for $29.99 if you're willing to wait)
But he is right about ethernet cables, they plug into your internet enabled router and are just as good if not better than a wireless connection (I find there's less problems with a wired connection). At my college everyone is always hogging the wifi so I just plug and play with an ethernet cable.
So yes,
Wifi = Internet connection
Ethernet cable = Internet connection

The ethernet cable is for people who do not have wireless internet. It plugs in to their router and in to their xbox. You need this or wi-fi. It is the same thing, just a differnt way of having internet received t your xbox. As for the GOLD card, there really is nothing cheaper unless you want to get a 3 month pass instead of a 12 month. The 3 Month Gold is $19.99.
