Will these high school classes prepare me for Industrial Engineering Major?
I'm a high school student who is considering Industrial Engineering for a major.
I was wondering if this is an appropriate list of courses to prepare for the college major:
IB: [international baccalaureate]
AP: [advanced placement]
9th grade -
Honors Geometry
Pre IB English I
Pre IB Inquiry Skills
Pre IB Biology I
Journalism
Pre IB Spanish I
AP World History [passed with a 3]
Intro. to Engineering Design
10th grade -
AP European History
Pre IB Chemistry I
Computing for College and Careers [basically Microsoft Office... -_-]
Pre IB Art
Pre IB Spanish II / III
AP English Language Composition
French I
Algebra II [not honors, sadly]
11th grade -
IB History of the Americas
IB Spanish IV
IB Theory of Knowledge
AP English Literature Composition
IB Biology II
IB ITGS [Integrated Technology in a Global Society]
IB Pre - Calculus
12th grade -
To be determined...
So based on most of the classes, is this a good preparation for Industrial Engineering?
Economics?
Thanks.
The "IB Pre - Calculus" at my school is basically just Pre - Calculus with a class of IB Students who took algebra II the previous year.
Oh, and I forgot to include Honors Physics for 11th grade.
Senior year for math, I'm taking SL Math [calculus and descriptive statistics].

I too am in the IB Program. I can tell you it's moderately rigorous, but seeing as you're focusing on math, I don't see how you can have a "IB Pre-Calculus". To my knowledge, there is SL Math, HL Math, SL Math Studies, and HL Math Studies. I'm assuming by "IB Pre-Calc" you mean SL Math... If I were in your boat, I would've taken the high road and done a harder class, seeing as engineering is a very competitive as well as difficult study.
Economics, on the other hand, is better prepared for by taking Math Studies, from my brothers' experience (although he did manage to take HL Math as well in his Senior Year because he had an extra class).
Chance me!
