Why does Youtube buffer so much?

When I load a video, it just loads up the first few seconds and then stops loading for a minute or two. Then it loads up a few more seconds then stops. Eventually, the whole video will just load all at once, though.

This doesn't happen on any other online video players (like Vimeo), so I know it isn't my internet. I've tried disc clean up, removing my temporary files, and defragging.

Any ideas about how to solve this?

Update:

To be clear, I am 100% sure this is not my internet. I can load up much higher quality videos without any buffering on other video players. And a few months ago, I could load up Youtube videos without any trouble, too. It is only recently that the loading just stops completely for longs spans of time before resuming.

I'm using Google Chrome, if that helps.

Maybe there's something wrong with your Flash Player. ...I'm pretty sure that's what YouTube uses... You could try updating or reinstalling it. Also, check and see if you have the same problem in other browsers; maybe Chrome's acting up for whatever reason.

Youtube buffers simply because it is downloading the video. If you have slower internet it will most likely not download as fast as the video is playing. If you have faster internet it will play without buffering. I hoped this helped.
