    Hung. Hanged is used in connection with that method of execution.

    I hung out with some friends today, I was hanging out with friends earlier, I will be hanging out with my friends tonight. ALL options, nothing else from your suggestions though.

    I'm pretty sure hanged is only for when you hang someone (like from their neck until they die). So its "I hung out with some friends today" because "I hanged my friends today" means you murdered them, and "I hanged out with some friends today" makes you sound like an idiot
