  • can't open folders in windows 7 without right clicking and going to open?

    every time I try to open any folder on my computer by double clicking the following error message is displayed.

    This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.

    However, I can always right click on the folder and click open and it opens every time, it's just kind of a hassle. How can I correct this?

    Thanks

  • 1994 Yamaha seca ii xj 600 front fender same as 1991 Yamaha xj600 front fender?

    I recently purchased a 1994 Yamaha seca ii xj600 but it came without a front fender. I've been looking to get one but the best and most reasonable priced one I have found so far is off of a 1991 Yamaha xj600. I know that 1992 was the first year of the seca ii (diversion) but the fenders look pretty much identical to me. Does anyone know if they are the same part? Even if they aren't exactly the same does anyone know if the 1991 fender would bolt right up to my 1994 bike?"

    additionally if anyone knows where I could get a lower fairing for it that would be great as well!!

    Thanks

  • Low temperature solder melting point?

    I'm looking for a solder that comes in a solid (rod or spool) with a super low melting point, around 225 degrees F. I know of TIX solder which melts at 275 degrees F but that's just a little too high for my application. Also any information on remelt temperatures of solders would be awesome. I hear that after the first time solder is melted some of the chemicals are dispelled from it which raises the melting point.

    Thanks for the help

  • 1.2V DC convert to 5V DC?

    Hi I need to build a circuit to convert 1.2V DC to 5V DC. If anyone could point me towards a circuit or full sized IC chip (not a micro chip) to do this that would be wonderful.

    Thank you.

  • DC motor as generator?

    So I'm trying to use a small DC motor as a generator (wind powered) to charge small electronic devices, cellphones etc. I hooked my multi-meter up to it and drove around in my car. I keep getting solid voltage readings with it, up to around 10V @ 50mph, but I cannot get a current reading at all, no matter what setting I use on my meter, and no matter what speed I travel at.

    Why can I not achieve a current? What can I do to change this?

    thank you

  • Circuiting question... 3.7VDC 1100mAh charging?

    I'm designing a charger for a device with a 3.7V 1100mAh battery. It's a "green" charger powered by wind, it needs to be able to be used with the device when it is being used, and operate at a variety of wind speeds, target range (5mph - 100 mph). I found a DC motor to use as a generator, that provides enough voltage, but lacks on current. The point is for it to supplement the current battery life, not replace the existing battery. Just looking for suggestions of components to use in the circuit. Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

  • Honda prelude struggling?

    I brought my car to the shop a while ago and when they ran the computer the mechanic said it threw the code for the IACU. It hadn't effected the car's performance so i didn't think anything of it, and didn't really worry about it, Lately she's been struggling going up hills at reasonable rpm or if i really punch the accelerator it struggles too, it feels like it's being choked. So i thought that maybe the idle air control valve was gummed up, so I pulled it off the car, cleaned it out and put it back on. It hasn't seamed to do anything, I was reading online about someone with a similar problem and one response (which is what was done to correct the problem) was to adjust the idle (my car idles a little lower than it used to as well), when I was playing around with the IACU i did notice some slack in the throttle cable. I was just wondering if that would be a good next step or if there is something I should do before I try that.

    The time I brought my car to the shop when the mechanic said the IACU code was thrown I had the plugs, wires, and ignition coil replaced. My air filter is also pretty clean, I even took it for a SHORT drive with the air intake detached to see if there was an airflow problem.

    Just looking for suggestions, thanks in advance.

  • DE m56a one barrel jammed?

    I have a DEm56a, i love it, but i haven't had it too long, and don't really use it much... but one of the barrels is now jammed or something. I have unjammed the other barrels but this one is something special. no matter what I cant get whatever is in it out. The unjamming rod that it came with isn't strong enough to do anything. this made me resort to try to use a straightened coat hanger to get in there and try to unjam it. I tried to go in through the spot where the mag-shell loads in... Can't get the barrel clear.

    also sometimes the cocking mechanism gets stuck and I cannot cock it. and sometimes it guts stuck cocking, it will cock and will move back and forth but it will not return to the full upright position and fire without some fidgeting

    is there something else it could be? how do you take it apart? what can I do to make this gun sweet again?

    thanks

  • 94 prelude problems with idle and startup?

    I have a 1994 honda prelude with the JDM 2.2L VTEC, and it has recently been giving me some problems. After driving it for a while it will just shut off, and then turning it back on is difficult if not impossible. If it will turn back on it starts up sounding like a go-kart, and will idle around only 500rpms. I brought it to a garage and the mechanic said he didn't have too much time to look at it but offered some Solutions for me to try (for free). So I changed the spark plugs and ignition wires. In doing so I saw some oil in the spark plug wells. So I replaced the valve cover gasket set. It still does the exact same thing. I believe the culprit to be the idle air control valve. If this makes sense please tell me, and if it doesn't make sense please offer some helpful feedback.

    Thank you.

  • Java programing Help?

    I have a Java project where I have to build a GUI to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and vise versa.

    I have made that program:

    import javax.swing.*;

    import java.awt.*;

    import java.awt.event.*;

    public class p8 extends JFrame //creates class p8 (extention on JFrame)

    {

    private JLabel TempL, ResultsL; //initates TempL and ResultsL (JLables

    private JTextField inputTF, resultsTF; //initates inputTF nad resultsTF (JTextFields)

    private JButton c2fB, f2cB; //initates c2fB and f2cB (JButtons)

    private C2FButtonHandler C2FHandler; //initates C2FButtonHandler

    private F2CButtonHandler F2CHandler; //initates F2CButtonHandler

    public p8() //begins public class p8

    {

    Container pane = getContentPane();

    pane.setLayout(new GridLayout(3,2)); //sets content pane to a 3 row x 2 column grid

    TempL = new JLabel("Temperature:"); //creates new JLabel named Temperature

    ResultsL = new JLabel("Results:"); //creates new JLable named Results

    inputTF = new JTextField("0",10); //creates new JTextField 10 columns wide and set to zero

    resultsTF = new JTextField("",40); //creates new JTextField 40 columns wide with no initial value

    c2fB = new JButton("Celsius to Fahrenheit"); //creates new JButton names Celsius to Fahrenheit

    f2cB = new JButton("Fahrenheit to Celsius"); //creates new JButton named Fahrenheit to Celsius

    C2FHandler = new C2FButtonHandler(); //creates a new ButtonHandler (C2F) and calls it C2FHandler

    c2fB.addActionListener(C2FHandler); //waits for c2fB to be pushed and uses C2FHandler when that happens

    F2CHandler = new F2CButtonHandler(); //creates new ButtonHandler (F2C) and calls it F2CHandler

    f2cB.addActionListener(F2CHandler); //waits for f2cB to be pushed and uses F2CHandler when that happens

    pane.add(TempL); //adds TempL to emplt pane in spot 1,1

    pane.add(inputTF); //adds inputTF to pane in spot 1,2

    pane.add(c2fB); //adds c2fB to pane in spot 2,1

    pane.add(f2cB); //adds f2cB to pane in spot 2,2

    pane.add(ResultsL); //adds ResultsL to pane in spot 3,1

    pane.add(resultsTF); //adds resultsTF to pane in spot 3,2

    resultsTF.setEditable(false); //enables user from editing resultsTF

    setTitle("Celsius and Fahrenheit conversion"); //assigns title to pane

    setSize(375,120); // sets size for pane

    setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE); //sets close operations for pane

    setVisible(true); //turns on pane visibility

    }

    private class C2FButtonHandler implements ActionListener //implements ActionListber for button c2fB

    {

    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) //method to preform action for button c2fB

    {

    int Ctemp, Ftemp; //defines integers Ctemp and Ftemp

    Ctemp=Integer.parseInt(inputTF.getText()); //gets input from user converts it to an int and defines it as Ctemp

    Ftemp= (Ctemp)*9/5+32; //calculates Ftemp

    resultsTF.setText(+Ctemp+" Celsius is"+Ftemp+" Fahrenheit"); //display results

    }

    }

    private class F2CButtonHandler implements ActionListener //implements ActionListner for Button f2cB

    {

    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) //method to preforme action for button f2cB

    {

    int Ctemp, Ftemp; //defines integers Ctemp and Ftemp

    Ftemp=Integer.parseInt(inputTF.getText()); //gets input from user converts it to an int and defines it as Ftemp

    Ctemp= ((Ftemp)-32)*5/9; //calculates Ctemp

    resultsTF.setText(+Ftemp+" Fahrenheit is"+ Ctemp+" Celsius"); //display results

    }

    }

    public static void main(String[] args) //begins main method

    {

    p8 window = new p8(); //opens new window p8()

    }

    }

    however there is an extra credit portion that I need help with:

    to gain extra credit I have to use try/catch to only allow numeric values to be accepted and alert the user when an invalid entry has been entered.

    I have this example out of the book

    public static int getNumber()

    throws InputMismatchException

    {

    int num;

    try

    {

    System.out.print("Enter an Integer:");

    num=kb.nextInt();

    System.out.println();

    return num;

    }

    catch (InputMismatchException imeRef)

    {

    throw imeRef;

    }

    }

    but I dont know how to get them to work together, or how exactly try/catch works.

    need help please

  • prelude tire clicking?

    i drive a 94 prelude si with a 94 prelude VTEC engine in it... wehn i drive my front driverside tire makes a clicking sound; you can hear it best when im moving slow because when i move faster the clicking happens so fast its hard to hear. It doesnt happen only when i turn and does not amplify or change when i turn. So i dont think its the CV joint. I think its the wheel bearing. Someone on a forum said to just tigten the screws in the wheel bearing and it will stop... I dont see any screws when i pull teh tire off and poke around though... where are these screws he spoke of... or do i just need to replace my wheen bearing? or is it something else? thanks

  • 2000 Hyundai Elantra headlight problems please help!!!?

    My friend Drives a 2000 hyundai elantra, and his headlights are really weird in how they are messed up. One headlight will go out (both the regular and high beams), he will replace them and then the other set of headlights (both regular and high beams) go out about a week after that. Then the next week the first set of lights go again and then the others and so on and so forth. How do we fix this plaese?

    My guess was something with the fuses, but not entirely sure.
