The question is generally based on the logistics of whether or not "every animal" on the "whole earth" would have fit in pairs or or sevens.
Firstly, The idea that the flood of Noah's day was "global" is NOT Logically Conclusive, since the "face of the whole earth" (Genesis 8:9) is also used of a localized plague (Exo 10:5, 14-15). "under the whole heaven" can also be used of specific nations (Deu 2:25).
Second, since the Text specifies "ha Adam" (Gen 6:1-2), the targets of the Nephilim were the decedents of Eth ha Adam of Genesis 2:10-14, 18-19, and NOT the Sixth Day creation. This might limit the geography even further.
Third, eretz, rendered "earth", is also rendered "land" "country" "ground".
You would be hard-pressed, therefore, to PROVE that the flood was "global".

you misunderstand the Bible. though everything in it is true not every thing in it is historical. There is a truth being told by this story otherwise the story would not have been included. It has its origins in Cananite tale I think but be that as it may the lesson it tells is that God does punish evil deeds. but He also saves. "His anger last but a moment a lifetime his good will" it foreshadows the waters of Baptism through which we die to sin and rise up out of the waters to New Life.
If you are busy counting the pars of animals you will have missed the message
