Tips on writing hooks?
Everything i've done up until now has either been a freestyle or a remix of a previously released song and I'm attempting growth so can anyone give me tips on writing hooks? Don't hate me, but I really am fond of hooks by Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne (Hot Boys- 2008) hooks seem to really stick with me. I'm just trying to grow as an artist, I want no criticism of my musical taste just true down-to-earth advice.

Yeah it can be hard. Most people can do one or the other. If you got the verse down, I'd say just practice and hyper-focus on the hooks you like so you got the right recipe. If you can mix good hooks, and good lyrics there's no reason to hate.

your not going to be able to sit down and be like okay i need a good hook follow a few steps and have it, just write down anything catchy anything you like, since you always have your phone on your just out it in a note, or text it too yourself

maximum suitable tip = do no longer do it, get a pattern, it will sound extra appropriate. yet once you need to then i think contain the call of the music (possibly), and shop it short and easy, and catchy.
