What would my ideal dirtbike be?

So I just recently purchased a smaller dirtbike to start riding with, a Honda XR80-R. It's a small bike, of course, but it gets the job done temporarily. I just want to know what an ideal size dirtbike would be for me. I'm 20 years old, about 5'11, and roughly 160 pounds. I would prefer a Honda model. I was looking around and I suppose something from a 100cc to a 150cc size, but I'd just like a little input.

With your height, you can ride any modern dirt bike.

At 160lbs you should be riding a 250cc dirt bike.

I like 2-strokes, but since you are used to an 4-stroke already, then stick with a 4-stroke.

Go to the local shop and sit on a bunch of different bikes to see what you fit best on or what feels good for you.

Since you are not racing, you can get a way with a used bike. Check Ebay, Craigslist, BikeFinds and CycleTrader for used 250's near you.

Well, Matthew, this depends on what kind of riding you'll be doing. I sold my CRF250R around 2 years ago, but that was my absolute favorite bike EVER! I know you're 40 pounds lighter than me, so perhaps a crf150r would be a good pick, but if you're planning on doing serious woods riding or taking it to the track, you're probably going to need a little more power. 4 strokes are more expensive to maintain, but have more even and consistent power. Also, it's great to learn how to work on a 4 stroke motor, it gives you a better idea of how engines work and is great life experience.

finding at your length, i might think of to flow with a crf 250r. It sounds huge yet I experience a 450 exc on the age of 15. I rode my buddies 250r and it had little torque inspite of the undeniable fact that it might surely be an progression out of your 80 and you nonetheless stay interior the Honda variety. I went from a ttr a hundred twenty five to my 450 so don't be afraid to leap a pair cc's. And as a beginner rider, I recommend to stay removed from 2-strokes. they are going to be a touch jumpy and you're able to be able to desire to apply your snatch a lot reckoning on your using terrain. i think of the 100cc to a 150cc does no longer be a lot or an progression and you will become bored with it actual speedy.
