COMPLETE EDIT!!!!
Ok, so when I was dual military I got the with dependent rate because I was higher ranking. According to the JFTR, the guy at finance was wrong.
At the end of JFTR Volume 1, Chapter 10, Part C there is a chart that shows who gets what.
Dual military, where neither has a dependent other than the spouse, they both get the single rate.
Until a child comes in to the picture, there is not supposed to be any with dependent rate
I'm glad finance never figured that out, that is a lot of BAH to pay back.
Well played thumb downers, well played.

I was Marines husband was Navy, we both received BAS and BAH only one spouse can claim a dependant even if you have multiple dependents. Only thong really different is that member to member you are not entitled to FSA.

Its not the JFTR it is the DOD Financial Management Regulation. Either 7A or 7B. You'll have to find it yourself.

it really depends on your rank and if you married ect! we need more info BUT you can look up BAH on google for this year, and pay rate.

you are considered SINGLE unless there are kids.
therefore it is COMMAND POLICY that dictates who is and is not entitled to BAH/BAS when you are not co located.
