gardening feeler question?

just to get an idea of who knows wtf they are talking about

My peonies are covered with ants what will get rid of them with out harming my plants?

    The ants are drawn to the sap that comes out of the buds. Now there are 2 lines of thinking on this. One says that the bud needs the ants eating at the seams of the flower bud or it won't open and the other side says no, not true. In any case they will not harm the plant so just ignore them.
