What size boat to get?

Ok so I will be offshore fishing in Australia off the self. I was thinking 30ft but then boating becomes no "challenge". I feel it would get to the point where you could take on almost any sea condition and boating would not be fun. Im most likely going with a power catamaran. So now im thinking 26ft of 25ft. What do you think?

I think your a bored school kid making up silly questions on Yahoo Answers.

Firstly. Anyone that has any experience with wide offshore fishing knows that a 30 foot boat doesn't mean you are safe in any conditions.

Secondly. Anyone who has experience in wide offshore fishing would not be asking for advice on Yahoo Answers. They would have a plethora of boating friends and contacts that actually know and have big boat experience to ask.

And finally. Anyone who has experience in wide offshore fishing and was about to spend 100k+ on a boat wouldn't be asking silly questions in Yahoo answers.

I've been on several Power Catamaran and they are really nice boats. I'd recommend the 26' version. I've driven World Cat and Glacier Bay brands.

BTW, both of these are trailerable and are 8'6" wide.

I owned a catamaran of several years - I love them. . . But suddenly the Marinas got smart and started charging double for catamaran slips (obviously, because of their width, they took up two slip spaces). So, you might want to keep this in mind. . . Other then that, get the shoe that fits. . .
